I was fairly chuffed to discover, via a search from Poland, that Drinks-After-Work is the third-ranked Google result for "music martinis misanthropy download blog".My suspicion however is that the searcher was looking for a download for the 2001 album Music, Martinis And Misanthropy by American musician and possibly all-round dodgy-bastard Boyd Rice (right).
Oh well.

I asked a Polish friend about Boyd Rice. He said:

I think BOYD RICE is ace. He's good fun.

Yes, I've been meaning to read that, only because of her connection to Rice, though. She doesn't interest me that much.

PS. My main problem with Boyd Rice is to do with the "R.A.P.E (Revolt Against Penis Envy)" article he published, but.. I haven't read it myself so I can hardly stand in judgement until I have.
I've read bits of that R.A.P.E article, and I don't remember it being particularly offensive. I do remember though, that it made me laugh out loud. People are just too quick to take things out of context and be reactionary.
I love his contribution to those excellent RE/SEARCH books - the 'Industrial Handbook' is a real treasure of information. Totally inspiring. And he did some cool work as NON and DEATH IN JUNE.
Rice comes across really well in interviews, too. I'd rather be interviewing people like him than some of the other boring twits I have to interview.
